Fighting Cancer, One Game at a Time!
The coed group won their second tournament in as many tries this past Sunday by wining the Super Sunday Event at Softball World in Euless, TX. Special thanks to Michelle Green, Tish Stewart and Sarah Dokey-Reyes for helping us out this past weekend. We obviously couldn’t have done it without you.
The season has started well for both of the SaveSecond teams. The best part is that we’re having one helluva good time playing ball and hanging out together.
Earlier today, the men’s C Class team secured their ticket to Orlando in September by being the highest finishing C Class team in the Abilene NIT at Nelson Park in Abilene, TX. This is great news because it achieves a goal for the team that usually takes well into the summer to achieve. I am really happy with how things are going thusfar and by securing this berth, we are able to focus our time on getting better as a team and building stronger team chemistry.
The guys played hard this weekend and I thank them all for making the trip and playing so hard.
The season as begun and things are looking pretty good. The first round of fund raising started with shirt sales and we look to have a pretty profitable month by the looks of the orders. Stay tuned to SaveSecond.com. We will soon provide the ability to order items directly from the website via the SaveSecond.com Store.
On the field, both the men’s and coed teams are off to a pretty good start. The men have a few top three finishes and a tournament win under their belt and the coed team went out and won their first tournament of the season at BLD in February. Check out the schedule page to keep track of how things are going for us throughout the year. Here is when the men’s and coed teams are playing next:
Men:
March 14 – St. Patrick’s Shootout, Big League Dreams, Mansfield, TX
March 20 – 8th Annual Key City NIT, Nelson Park, Abilene, TX
Coed:
March 29 – Super Sunday Event, Softball World, Euless, TX
Thanks for the support everybody.
Save Second lands Worth Sports as a sponsor/partner
I am pleased to announce that Worth Sports has offered SaveSecond.com a sponsorship for the 2009 season. We are excited about this sponsorship for many reasons. As a Worth sponsored team, we feel that we will have a competitive advantage on and off the field.
On the field, there is no better equipment available in the game today. We will be swinging just about every tournament level performance bat that Worth makes, from the Titan line of bats including the balanced black Titan, to the Jeff Hall Titan with that extra half-ounce of endload, to the Resmondo Titan, with a fill ounce end load to the two-piece Mutant line, which follows suit with the Balanced Mutant HD to the Hall model to the Resmondo. I’m partial to the 2009 Resmondo Mutant, myself.
Off the field, we feel that this partnership puts a huge named brand behind our mission and charter. Worth is a globally recognized brand synonomous with quality and performance. Save Second hopes that people recognize our mission as one of quality and performance as well. We hope this partnership will provide people with the additional motivation necessary to give to the cause, which is easy to do. Simply click the donate link to the upper right of the home page.
It’s fund raising time

As I discussed in an earlier post, Save Second ran seven major campaigns last year. Six of which were selling apparrel to people and the seventh was the 3rd Annual Leigh Power Memorial/SaveSecond.com Softball Tournament. We did well with these campaigns raising $2,600 in our first year while getting the word out about our brand an mission. This year, we hope to run a dozen campaigns. The first one started this morning.
You will find our newly designed 2009 FIGHT Gear for sale here. Please take a moment and consider ordering. These are the highest quality performance wicking shirts using a dye sublimation printing process which keeps colors bright and vibrant for up to 10 times longer than normal screen printing. In the coming months, we will have the storefront setup on this site, making it a bit easier to take and process orders. Right now, its a simply paypal process for ordering them as described in the link above.
Now that you have had time to read all about what we are doing here, why not get in on a piece of the action. It's easy to do so. We have a bunch of really good looking stuff you should check out in the Shop.
If you just want to check out how things are going with the folks at savesecond.com, check out the Blog or the Schedule pages.
Profitable proceeds go straight to the cause. Thanks in advance for the support. We need all the help we can get.
